What type of MRI do I need?

  • In order to have an MRI of your brain, you need a:

    HEAD MRI

    For a HEAD MRI please schedule one of the following:

    • MiniMRI (Head Option)

    • MiniMRI+

    • Either full body MRI

    Conditions a Brain MRI can evaluate for:

    • Brain tumors

    • Aneurysms

    • Cysts

    • Strokes

    • Demyelinating Diseases

    • Chiari malformation

    • Arteriovenous malformations

    • Hemorrhages

  • In order to have an MRI of your heart, you need a:

    CHEST MRI

    For a CHEST MRI please schedule one of the following:

    • MiniMRI (Chest Option)

    Conditions a Chest MRI can evaluate for:

    • Enlarged Heart

Your MRI Results

You will personally have access to all of your images and reports with a MyChart linked to anElectronic Medical Record.

The images and reports will also be accessible by most doctors’ offices and hospitals through the EMR, but they can also be faxed to any doctor’s office.

If you would like, you can also setup a phone call or in person meeting with a physician to discuss your results.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • You can typically expect to receive your results within 48 hours.

  • You have access to your images online and the link can be shared with your doctor.

  • You will receive a call from the doctor if desired, and the results will be uploaded to your EMR/MyChart.

  • Yes, you can pay with your HSA card or seek reimbursement from your HSA fund.

  • It depends on which MRI you choose. A single body part takes about 30 minutes, two body parts takes about 45 minutes, and a full body or spine can take over an hour.

  • At this time, all of our MRIs are done without contrast.

  • You are never too old for an MRI, as long as you are able to lay flat for a prolonged period of time. We currently only offer MRIs to patients 18 years or older.

  • Unfortunately, we recommend patients with pacemakers get an MRI at the hospital.

  • It is always a good idea to check with your doctor, but most patients with joint replacements can get an MRI.

  • It is always a good idea to check with your doctor, but most patients with plates and screws can get an MRI.

  • Yes, patients with dental implants can get an MRI.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate patients who have:

    • Pacemakers/ICDs

    • Implanted Nerve Stimulators

    • Implanted Glucose Monitors

    • VP Shunts

    • Aneurysm Clips

    • Certain Metallic Fragments or Foreign Bodies
